During a drive on one of our most spectacular Autumn days, I had a marvelous experience.
The air was sharp, the sky a clear bright blue with just a few clouds racing before a gusty wind. The colors of the trees were VIVID. The golds, reds and oranges vying with each other for attention.
I was driving slowly enjoying each colorful scene as it came into view. As I turned into Hoxie Road I caught my breath. There before me was a tunnel of gold. A carpet of gold covered the hilly terrain and the golden trees swayed in the sunlight.
As I very slowly drove into this fairy land a sudden gust of wind shook the trees and whirled the leaves on the around and I was in the midst of a shower of gold. I had to stop the car. The leaves glistened and shimmered in the sunlight as they gently rained down on me. It was a magnificent sight and I sat quietly savoring it. As I drove slowly on I felt blessed to have been able to experience this golden moment.
